Jerrica Zaric Interior Design, a luxury interior design firm, is seeking a full-time Senior Designer with 5+ years of relevant work experience in high-end residential interiors for full-time employment. We are a small, fast-paced office in need of a self-starter who is organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator. Our primary territory is Milwaukee, Oconomowoc, Lake Geneva, and Chicago’s North Shore.
Candidates must have proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and must be able to work efficiently using our tried and true project management process in order to exceed our client’s expectations. Applicants should be highly organized & detail-oriented self-starters with strong communication skills in order to work well within a team setting — but also have enough experience and drive to work autonomously.
Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:
Attend or lead new client consultations to secure the project
Create design concepts
Lead the coordination and production of technical drawings which include Interior Design documentation sets, FF&E specifications, material schedules, and budgets
Create and maintain purchasing spreadsheets
Offer unsolicited feedback on how to improve systems and procedures when opportunities arise
Take the initiative to make positive change
Demonstrate leadership skills in assisting the team to produce quality projects
Work with consultants, furniture dealers, product representatives, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives
Respond to clients’ questions and concerns in a timely, informative manner
Manage projects – complete multiple site visits and manage sub-trades
Job Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in Interior Design or Architecture
Minimum of 5 years experience in Interior Design
High-end residential experience with custom furniture, fabrics, finishes and decorative items
Commercial and Hospitality experience is a plus
Strong design and presentation skill
Excellent verbal, written and client skills
Must be a team player as well as comfortable working independently
Ability to take initiative, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines as well as delegate within the office
Extremely organized, proactive and diligent
Understanding of furniture, millwork, and cabinetry construction, detailing, and related shop drawing review process
Ability to develop and track budgets, purchase orders, etc
Proficiency in: Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Knowledge of Gather or other specifying tools is a plus
An open-minded and creative innovator who welcomes education and learning opportunities
Trustworthy, goal-oriented, and able to set and manage expectations
A process-oriented troubleshooter who is comfortable in problem-solving
Occasional travel is required. Must have own vehicle.
